Welcome to Agoura Hills, California
Minutes from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles rests the beautiful city of Agoura Hills, California
Planning a trip to the Agoura Hills area? Well, you've chosen a great place to visit. Agoura Hills is one of a few gems around the Los Angeles area. Nestled in the scenic valley between the Santa Monica Mountains and less than 9 miles from the stunning beaches of Malibu. It's one of the easiest areas to travel from as you can drive here from Los Angeles International Airport without ever getting on the freeway (which if you're familiar with the freeway traffic in Los Angeles, you'll truly appreciate this). The beautiful drive takes you through the beach cities of Marina del Rey, Venice, Muscle Beach, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades and Malibu. Take in the view of all the surfers enjoying the waves while cruising along Pacific Coast Highway. The beauty is unparalleled in most parts of the world. Only in the South Island of New Zealand have I seen a coastal drive -- of this length -- that is this beautiful. Even the South of France doesn't compare.
By now you may be wondering, who is this person and why is she writing about this somewhat unknown suburb of Los Angeles. Quite frankly, I believe it's one of the most beautiful cities in America. My husband and I own a home here and would be blessed to live here for the rest of our lives. You'll learn more about my family and me in the About Me page, but for this post, I think I'll stick to talking about why I love Agoura Hills and why I believe you'll fall in love with it too.

Within minutes of Agoura Hills are the beautiful cities of Oak Park (formerly a section of Agoura Hills), Calabasas, Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village. There is little difference between the cities other than the rich history and sites of Agoura Hills. I'll reference the neighboring cities quite a bit in this blog because they are all so close. But my focus is mainly Agoura Hills. As my two favorite topics are travel and food, you'll hear me talk frequently about both. For my opinion on the best restaurants in the area, make sure to go to the "My Top Restaurant Picks" page. These are all unfiltered reviews, not in conjunction or affiliated with any of the restaurants. These are solely my opinion after having experienced the majority of the great restaurants in the area. You can also see additional reviews by clicking on the "Restaurants Listed by Cuisine" section. If you think I've missed one and you're familiar with the area, make sure to e-mail me.
I look forward to sharing with you all that I love about Agoura Hills. And if you have visited the area and want to also post what you love about this town, just blog it. Happy trails and I'll speak with you soon.
